David Byrne
American Utopia on Broadway
Nonesuch
|
|
American Utopia began as the most recent solo album from American Treasure, David Byrne. The concert tour in support of American Utopia, which inspired the Broadway show, included songs from the new album along with music from Talking Heads and Byrne's solo career. Byrne and his ensemble performed more than 150 dates in twenty-seven countries over nine months, generating nothing but rave reviews. That said, American Utopia, still must be seen to be believed, but the music contained herein is itself a reason to be cheerful. |

The Flaming Lips
The Soft Bulletin: Live at Red Rocks
(feat. The Colorado Symphony
& André de Riddler)
Warner
|
|
On May 26, 2016 The Flaming Lips performed their classic album The Soft Bulletin in its entirety with the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO. The Flaming Lips were accompanied by a 69-piece orchestra and 56-strong chorus, which was conducted by the internationally celebrated conductor Andre de Ridder. The Lips performed the 12-track album in its original sequence with new arrangements for each song that use the orchestra and chorus to great effect. It's one hell of a way to celebrate this classic album's 20th anniversary. |
