BluesMania: A benefit for Steve Pringle
BluesMania: A benefit for Steve Pringle was held on November 24th at the Roseland Theater in Portland Oregon.  This event was put together from the love of the community to help long time radio personality Steve Pringle with paying the medical costs while getting treated for cancer. As Steve passed away before the event, the sold out night became a Celebration of Life and featured a who’s who of the Portland blues cummunity

Performers included Curtis Salgado and Alan Hager, Lloyd Jones, Rose City Kings, Karen Lovely with Ben Rice, Norman Sylvester Band, Lisa Mann and Dave Melvyn, Kevin Selfe Big Band and many more. The evening concluded with an All-star
guitar showdown featuring guitarists from the featured bands as well as Robbie Laws, Ty Curtis, Peter Dammann, Tim Langford and more.

Steve Pringle was a 25 year veteran of Portland radio including time at KKJZ, KMHD, KINK-FM and KGON. He was well loved in the blues  community for his Friday Freeway Blues show on KMHD and his takeover of Bob Anchetta’s longtime blues show Sunday Night Blues, which aired on both KINK and KGON.
