Damon & Matthews are former members of the seventies band, 'Horn, Wood, & Silver', and played throughout the Mid-Atlantic U.S. during that time. Their strongest influences were artists of the day, including, Eric Clapton, and The Beach Boys, which is evident on their first album release together, 'Sail to The Sun'. The title track by the same name, is a tribute to Beach Boy co-founder, Carl Wilson, who Flip Damon first met in 1971 in Washington, DC, where The Beach Boys were playing that night. He was enamored by Carl's vocal ability, and the group as a whole. The song is a personal salute to Carl Wilson who sadly passed away in 1998, but is never forgotten. Many of the songs on this album are rooted in harmonious expressions similar to the sound and harmonies that influenced them in the earlier years, but then extended on through endless time.
