Arnold had a very lyrical and and vocal sound to his playing and played in a very frenzied rhythmic style. By 1935, Arnold, though not totally abandoning the country life; that his music had been born out of, had started to become accustomed to the big city, Chicago in particular. This session saw the first use of piano playing (provided by Peetie W.) to back up his highly personal slide style.
